Informed sources have told Al-Mirsaad about the Pakistani military regime’s plan to replace the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Sources say Pakistan’s federal government, which is fully controlled by the military, wants to take away the provincial government’s powers and has already started working on a gradual plan to achieve this.
According to the sources, the regime first wants to worsen the security situation in KP by carrying out complex attacks. It then plans to declare an emergency, using the provincial government’s failure to maintain security and administration as an excuse, and transfer its executive powers to the military. The regime ultimately wants to install a serving or retired army general as head of the provincial government.
Citing influential political figures inside Pakistan, Al-Mirsaad’s sources say Monday’s joint press conference by the federal information minister and the minister of state for interior was also part of the same plan. The purpose was to gradually turn public opinion against the KP government. Accounts linked to the Pakistani military, the Information Ministry and the ISI’s media wing widely circulated the two ministers’ statements on social media.
The sources further revealed that the Pakistani military and federal government are providing resources and support to several figures from prominent political parties who belong to KP. These individuals are being used to lead the public campaign against the provincial government.
KP is governed by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. Its independent political stance has made it a persistent obstacle for the military regime.
