Because of its particular geographical position, its historical circumstances, and regional developments, Afghanistan has always faced a range of security challenges. Under such circumstances, strengthening the country’s security and intelligence institutions is one of the basic requirements of national sovereignty, stability, and the security of the people. The growing strength of Afghan intelligence and security forces shows a security institution moving from a defensive posture of waiting toward active security measures.
Responding after a threat has emerged is one part of security, but detecting and preventing a threat before it emerges is the higher professional standard for an intelligence force.
Recently, in Badakhshan, the country’s northeastern province, foreign intelligence circles funded and trained certain rebellious elements and pushed them directly into the battlefield against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA). Likewise, the elimination of the thug of evil and corruption known as Hasib Quwayi Markaz, along with several other thugs associated with him, who were being used by foreign circles for destructive purposes, was also part of these offensive operations.
But the systematic suppression of these very fitnas shows that Afghan intelligence and security forces have information about every foreign conspiracy and the full ability to analyze it. All these rebellions are funded by a sinister and impure foreign address that seeks to create divisions among the country’s peoples and challenge national sovereignty.
Likewise, eliminating these dangers with complete decisiveness was another firm blow by the intelligence and security forces against the sinister front of Daesh. Afghan security and intelligence forces have been able to discover and completely destroy the hideouts, sources of funding, and logistical and propaganda machinery of the Daeshi Khawarij, rebels, and thugs of evil and corruption inside the country.
In today’s sensitive regional environment, the presence of security and intelligence forces with exceptional abilities to identify threats, prevent dangers, and maintain security is of particular value to a believing country. On this basis, strong intelligence, rapid response, an organized security structure, and professional forces form important foundations of a stable and secure Afghanistan.
Their movement from a defensive posture toward an offensive one shows that their capabilities for the country’s security have expanded and that they possess a comprehensive ability to confront all kinds of threats. The discipline, professional responsibility, courage, and sense of duty for protecting the security of a believing country are qualities that show the strength of Afghan intelligence and security forces.
