Part 2 (Final)
Over the past several decades, Afghanistan has borne heavy losses from prolonged wars and from the plots of Islam’s enemies. Over the past hundred years, every enemy has spread its poison across this soil. Every country and every neighbor has sent its horses galloping across this homeland to pursue its own sinister and destructive aims. Today, just as before, Pakistan’s puppet and hypocritical regime is pursuing its old policy of plots and double-dealing inside Afghanistan.
This regime should understand that the Afghan nation has bitter experience with these traitors from the region. From now on, it won’t allow any schemer or enemy to hatch plots inside the country or engage in sabotage. The military regime wants to prepare the ground for armed groups to operate, using border-area connections, networks of individuals, and ties across the Durand Line.
Under these conditions, the establishment of recruitment centers, the transfer of equipment and the organization of operations near the Durand Line are dangers that countries across the region need to watch for. The stakes here aren’t limited to Afghanistan alone. Central Asian countries face the same threats, from networks tied to violent extremism and to Daesh.
The Daesh takfiri group isn’t confined, in its propaganda or its goals, within the borders of one country. It recruits people, runs online propaganda, builds covert links and works to expand its operations. All of this can affect the security of several countries at once. For this reason, if the group sets up support networks or training centers anywhere in the region, the consequences won’t be confined to the area where they are established.
In this situation, the region’s countries should focus on exchanging accurate information, cutting off these groups’ financial resources, stopping new recruitment, and assessing security reports independently. Regional security isn’t secured through political slogans. It needs practical steps, real cooperation, and accountability.
Pakistan’s Responsibility for Regional Security
As a major country in the region, Pakistan has a responsibility not to allow its soil to be used for planning or carrying out armed-group operations against other countries. The security of the people of Afghanistan, Pakhtunkhwa and Central Asia must not be sacrificed to political rivalries or this regime’s secret calculations. Any policy that deliberately strengthens terrorism can, in the end, lay the ground for instability to spread across the whole region.
So, to prevent the possible expansion of Daesh and other groups’ activities in Pakistan, the countries of the region should take practical, substantial steps and give this issue serious attention.
