Throughout history, Islam has never faced an internal challenge as severe as the one it confronts today. This unprecedented internal threat demands a clear and principled response—one that is both rational and rooted in sound reasoning. The ideology of ISIS rests on a convoluted and distorted framework that wrenches sacred texts from their rightful context, manipulating them to fit pre-determined agendas. It is built not on genuine jurisprudence or scholarship, but on baseless arguments stemming from deviant and misguided minds.
Numerous compelling arguments dismantle ISIS’s claims and expose their violations of Islamic law. Yet many of these proofs remain embedded in complex texts beyond the average reader’s reach. For this reason, we have undertaken to clearly present the authentic Sunni Muslim position against ISIS and its campaign of terror.
This series represents not only a scholarly and theological rebuttal of ISIS’s weak and fabricated narratives, but also a broader effort to expose the true nature of the group. Through well-founded and carefully constructed arguments, we intend to demonstrate that ISIS’s so-called caliphate is neither legitimate nor Islamic. It is, rather, a deviant faction of criminals—engineered and exploited by Western powers—whose actions fuel extremism, hatred, and the ruthless pursuit of power. They invoke Islam not out of sincerity, but as a strategic façade to further their destructive objectives.
By the will of Allah, this series aims to address and benefit several specific audiences:
1. Muslim youth influenced by ISIS propaganda, who, despite lacking any sound religious justification, may find themselves swayed by its rhetoric.
2. Muslims seeking clarity in response to the religious and legal dilemmas created by ISIS’s distortion of Islamic teachings.
3. Individuals recently drawn into the group, to help them understand that ISIS is a perversion of Islam, and that allegiance to its self-proclaimed leadership holds no religious merit.
4. Muslim combatants uncertain about the nature of the conflict, who question whether fighting against this Western-backed group constitutes martyrdom or misfortune.
In the forthcoming installments, Allah willing, we will offer clear evidence and reasoned argumentation to establish that opposing ISIS is not only justified but constitutes a religious duty—an obligation upon the Muslim ummah to protect the true image of Islam from those who seek to tarnish it from within.
