Al-Mersaad has received information from a reliable source that on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the special forces of the Islamic Emirate successfully carried out a raid on a hideout of ISIS terrorists located in the fifth district of Kabul city.

As a result of this operation, several members of a substantial network of ISKP have been apprehended, and a large cache of explosives, weapons, and ammunition was seized from the hideout.

This network of ISIS insurgents had intentions to carry out deadly attacks during the Muharram ceremony.

The individual responsible for overseeing this hideout is reported to be an Afghan residing in a neighboring foreign country. He was recruited by the ISKP, with its headquarters in Balochistan. Initially, he wed a Pakistani woman, underwent training, and was subsequently dispatched to Afghanistan.

The source further discloses that among the apprehended individuals is the ISIS operative who perpetrated an assault on a vehicle transporting Shia passengers in the “Kote Sangi” area of Kabul a few months prior.

It has been disclosed that this network possesses a list comprising names of various religious scholars, madrassas, as well as prominent anti-government figures and politicians from Pakistan, whom the ISIS insurgents aim to eliminate, and some have already been eliminated. Furthermore, a roster of specific targets in Afghanistan and a neighboring country has been obtained from this network.
