Since the fall of the Ottoman Caliphate, Eastern and Western imperialist powers have directly or indirectly occupied numerous nations, later withdrawing but leaving behind their ideological and political influence. For instance, the Indian subcontinent remains under British cultural and political sway, Turkey still bears the marks of Atatürk’s Western-imposed ideology, and Tajikistan continues as a Russian-dominated colony.
However, Afghanistan stands as the singular exception—a nation that neither accepted foreign agents nor tolerated external military presence, nor succumbed to ideological subjugation. Instead, it waged a relentless struggle that not only safeguarded its own sovereignty but also played a pivotal role in expelling the British, Russians, and Americans from its soil.
Throughout this arduous battle, the Afghan Mujahid nation did not place its trust in material resources but relied solely on the Almighty Allah. While the world labeled them as madmen, their unwavering faith remained unshaken. The Divine promise of assistance was fulfilled, and the believers were guided toward liberation from occupation and corruption.
The final attempt to subjugate Afghanistan came from the United States and NATO. Whether due to a failure to understand Afghan history or a misplaced reliance on technological superiority, their expectations were utterly shattered. Under the leadership of Amir al-Mu’minin Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him), the Afghan people launched an unprecedented struggle against the world’s most formidable military alliance.
Despite their advanced military doctrines, American commanders—some holding PhDs in warfare—found themselves unable to suppress the resistance. Their much-touted technology, which claimed to detect hidden objects beneath the earth, failed to alter the battlefield’s reality. Even with an unparalleled propaganda apparatus, they could neither break the ranks of the Mujahideen nor divert them from their sacred mission.
A power that once dreamed of erasing Afghanistan from the world map was ultimately forced to negotiate, conceding to all conditions and signing an agreement—an implicit admission of defeat.
The Doha Agreement became a defining moment in history, where disbelief itself recognized the strength, wisdom, strategic depth, and faith-driven determination of the Islamic resistance.
Subsequently, the puppet regime and its militias crumbled under the weight of their illegitimacy. The tide of victories began in the north, and within days, the Mujahideen raised the white banner over Kabul on the 24th of Asad, marking the dawn of complete sovereignty.
As we now approach the third anniversary of that historic victory, we prepare to commemorate this momentous occasion with gratitude and conviction, In shā’ Allāh.
A Salute to the Nation of Sacrifice
O noble nation! Your perseverance, your sleepless nights, and the sacrifices of your sons, grandsons, brothers, and steadfast families have borne fruit. While many nations, despite their technological advancements and standing armies, remain shackled by subjugation, you stand free—a testament to unwavering faith and resolute struggle.
This freedom, first and foremost, is a divine blessing. It is also the outcome of immense sacrifices and relentless perseverance.
Let us, therefore, mark this day with unwavering enthusiasm, within the bounds of Shariah, demonstrating to the world that the sacrifices made for this freedom will be matched by an equally fierce commitment to its preservation.
Let us reaffirm our loyalty to the martyrs, honor the orphans, widows, and grieving mothers, and assure them that their loved ones’ sacrifices were not in vain. Through their blood, we have secured complete independence, and they, in turn, have attained their noble station with their Lord.
We have succeeded in both worlds—enjoying Islamic governance and freedom in this life, while in the Hereafter, we await the immense reward promised by Allah. Our martyrs will intercede on our behalf, In shā’ Allāh.
