The local branch of Al-Qaeda’s jihadist movement in Africa has successfully eliminated four ISIS members during operations conducted in Burkina Faso.
The media outlet of Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM), Al-Zallaqa, announced in a statement on Sunday that on Saturday, December 28, their fighters attacked ISIS militants in the Oudalan Province of Burkina Faso, resulting in the killing of four ISIS members.
The statement further detailed that various weapons, including a DShK machine gun, two Kalashnikov rifles, mobile phones, and assorted equipment, were confiscated from the deceased ISIS individuals. Furthermore, their vehicle was incinerated.
It is essential to note that Jama’at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM) functions as an active faction of Al-Qaeda in West Africa, operating in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger under the umbrella of “Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.”
