The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) is led by adherents of the noble religion of Islam, followers of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, and proponents of the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. The tenets of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah emphasize moderation, avoiding both extremism and negligence.
Similarly, the Hanafi school, founded by Imam al-Aʿzam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him), offers balanced perspectives on secondary issues, providing moderate solutions for all aspects of life. Striving for moderation in all matters ensures stability and sustainability.
Rooted in the principles of the Hanafi school, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan upholds a foreign and domestic policy based on moderation. It seeks peaceful and cooperative relations with all nations, free from interference in their internal affairs.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) harbors no aggressive intentions toward other nations, nor does it seek to violate their rights or interfere in their internal affairs. It calls for mutual respect and urges all nations to uphold balanced diplomatic relations based on moderation.
For all its foreign and domestic political engagements, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan upholds the following Quranic verse as a guiding principle:
فَمَنِ اعْتَدٰی عَلَیْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُوْا عَلَیْهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا اعْتَدٰی عَلَیْكُمْ ۪ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَ اعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ (البقرة/۱۹۴)
Translation: “So whoever transgresses against you, transgress against them in the same manner that they have transgressed against you. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who are mindful of Him.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:194)
Accordingly, the political interactions of the IEA adhere to this noble verse, refraining from interference in the internal or external affairs of any country—whether Muslim or non-Muslim—and avoiding actions that provoke or escalate conflicts.
At the same time, the IEA firmly rejects any form of aggression, intervention, or interference from other nations in its policies or territory. Any encroachment on Afghanistan’s sovereignty or disruption of its internal or external matters will be met with a decisive response.
The IEA remains independent of external influences, whether from governments or individuals. It is committed to strengthening Afghanistan’s economy, education, progress, military, healthcare, and other sectors to fulfill the rights of its people, eliminate foreign interference, and prevent Afghans from being subjected to harmful foreign policies.
All official announcements regarding the Islamic Emirate’s foreign and domestic policies are based on Islamic principles. Every decision is implemented after consultation and approval by hundreds of scholars, ensuring that its stance on reciprocity aligns with Islamic teachings and humanitarian considerations.
In essence, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) pursues a Sharia-based policy that is just and comprehensive, safeguarding the rights of its citizens while respecting the rights of others. It calls upon the international community to engage with the Emirate in a fair and principled manner.
