In general, one of the essential prerequisites for governance, recruitment, and the establishment of a sustainable state is maintaining positive relations with the populace and securing broad public support. A group can only maintain governance if it garners the support of the people, has their endorsement, and aligns itself firmly with the general public as a strong pillar.
Conversely, extremism, radicalism, and abusive conduct can never serve as the basis for enduring governance. People are won over through compassion, good conduct, and positive interactions—not through brutality and aggression. It is clear that any group that mistreats the population or fails to earn their support will struggle to establish governance or foster a sustainable state.
The people of Afghanistan are known for their moderate nature and respond well to kindness and fair treatment, rather than coercion. Historical evidence attests to this fact: three powerful empires attempted to control Afghanistan through force but ultimately failed. They were unable to alter the beliefs of its people, weaken their resilient spirit, or enforce their foreign ideologies. Instead, they retreated in defeat and disgrace. This serves as proof that the devout Afghan people remain steadfast in their beliefs, and that extremism or oppressive acts cannot sway their convictions.
ISIS, an extremist and proxy terrorist group, has long aimed to subjugate the devout, Muslim, and freedom-loving people of Afghanistan under its oppressive rule. Operating under the guise of a self-proclaimed caliphate, they seek to prop up a puppet government serving Western interests and propagate the West’s malign ideologies in the name of Islam.
ISIS has rebelled against the current Islamic system and is waging an armed conflict against it. Their opposition is not limited to the Islamic Emirate; they have stood against every jihadist and Islamic movement worldwide. Their blood-stained hands testify to their atrocities against the great scholars, jurists, and intellectuals of Islam. Time and again, they have tarnished the pure and noble image of Islam with their abhorrent actions.
With its extremist and radical doctrines, ISIS aspires to govern the devout people of Afghanistan. Below are some reasons why ISIS is incapable of governing the revered land of Afghanistan:
1. Brutality and Barbarism
It is evident that brutality and savagery are inherent in the very essence of ISIS. Wherever they have seized control, they have committed relentless and irreversible atrocities against the populace.
Throughout ISIS’s dark history, only barbarism has been observed. In the regions of Syria and Iraq under their dominion, they carried out repeated massacres. They callously slaughtered innocent and impoverished individuals without justification. These atrocities were not limited to Syria and Iraq; even during their initial presence in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, they perpetrated countless horrors.
