Shām (Greater Syria), the region that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) referred to as a blessed land, is where he encouraged settlement. It is a land where Allah, the Glorious, gathers and attracts His virtuous servants.
This is the same Ash-Sham (Syria) about which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stated: “If the people of Ash-Sham (Greater Syria) become corrupt, then there will be no goodness left among you. A group from my Ummah will remain victorious, unaffected by those who let them down, until the Hour (Day of Judgment) is established.”
This is the same Ash-Sham (Syria) whose virtues and merits have been extensively discussed. Currently, the group of truth in this region stands at the forefront of victories. It is the same Sham of the Muslim Ummah from where commands were once issued for the conquest of Cordoba and Granada, whose magnificence and grandeur never dimmed under the sun. Even the Romans surrounded themselves with seas out of fear of its might.
Today, Sham (Syria) strives for liberation from the clutches of falsehood and has made significant progress. The day is not far when Sham will once again become the Sham of the Muslims—a region under the governance of a wise and strategic leader like Amir al-Mu’minin Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan, whose mere message caused the Roman Emperor to tremble until seeking refuge within the walls of Constantinople.
The oppressed individuals of Sham (Syria), who have endured greatly at the hands of the Rawafidh, have risen to revive their former glory. Allah, the Exalted, has dispatched to them the same angels of Badr who instilled fear in the hearts of the disbelievers on the Day of Badr. Presently, that same dread is apparent in Bashar al-Assad’s Rafidhi forces, compelling them into continual retreat.
It is the duty of the entire Muslim Ummah to supplicate for their oppressed Syrian brethren and beseech Allah, the Almighty, to grant them even greater triumphs.
