Illustrious Personalities of the Ummah

Shaheed Habib-ur-Rehman, the son of Mohammad Alf Shah, grandson of Mohammad Shah, hailed from Moshke village, Ahmed Khel district of Paktia province.

He was born into this transient world in 1420 AH, corresponding to 1999 CE, into a practicing and jihadi family.

From a young age, Shaheed showed an inclination towards religious studies and was noted for his Islamic fervor and integrity. To satisfy his thirst for knowledge, he enrolled at Darul Uloom Faiz ul Quran in Pir Sabaq Sharif, Nowshera, Pakistan, where he completed his religious studies under the esteemed guidance of Pir Tariqat Hazrat Maulana Qari Bashir Ahmad Madani. Qari Bashir Ahmad personally bestowed upon him the turban of excellence.

Shaheed Omar Khalid embodied piety, and the values of the Prophet were deeply ingrained in his character. Throughout his educational and jihadi endeavors, he served his friends diligently, followed the instructions of his teachers and jihadi leaders, and held a profound admiration for scholars and mujahideen.

His passion for jihad was so profound that at a young age, he dedicated himself to the cause and fervently prepared for the struggle.

His Jihadi Efforts:

First Deployment:

Shaheed Omar Khalid embarked on his first deployment secretly from his family, operating under the command of Commander Khaware in the Sabari district of Khost province. During this deployment, he conducted daring attacks on the enemy and actively engaged in various raids and guerrilla operations. After two months, he returned home.

Second Deployment:

He participated in his second deployment alongside the companions of his uncle, Shaheed commander Naqibullah Nasrat, in the Ahmed Khel district of Paktia province. In Ahmed Khel district, he partook in numerous guerrilla operations against the enemy. Upon completion of his deployment, he returned to Dar-ul-Hijrat (Pakistan) with his companions.

In addition to his religious education, he also underwent military training. He enrolled at the “Ubaidah Ibn Jarrah camp” under the tutelage of Group Commander Mawlawi Zahidullah Madani. After sixty days of training, he graduated with distinction.

Upon completion of his camp training, he returned home and soon after returned to Darul Uloom Faiz ul Quran to revise the Holy Quran. He managed to complete three revisions with Qari Muhammad Nasir.

Following the Quranic revision, he returned to Afghanistan and led the Taraweeh prayers at the mosque linked to the madrasa in Moshki, reciting the entire Quran.

Third Deployment:

In the early hours of the morning, his comrades were preparing to depart for their deployment. Shaheed Omar Khalid sought (and received) his parents’ consent to fulfill his religious and national duty, and joyfully set out with his companions. Upon reaching a location known as Haqdari, he inspired his companions with words of courage, composure, and the fervor of jihad.

Despite appearing frail in his youth, it is whispered that Allah had bestowed him with immense strength. Although the journey was strenuous, he exuded joy and contentment, as if he had already received the news of his martyrdom. Upon arriving in the Ahmed Khel district of Paktia province, he displayed remarkable valor in numerous battles.

After approximately fifteen days, reports emerged of the presence of the Khawarij in Nangarhar province, with an order from the Paktia governor dictating that four individuals from each group should ready themselves to eliminate the Daesh-e-Khawarij.

Shaheed Omar Khalid promptly requested his Amir to place his name at the top of the list. His name was enlisted alongside his comrades, and they commenced their journey to Nangarhar in the afternoon, arriving there within days.

Under the leadership of Shaheed Mirza Jan, they engaged in intense battles for several days, showcasing unwavering determination against the Khawarij. Ultimately, while seizing a post, he inadvertently triggered a landmine planted by the Khawarij, resulting in severe and critical injuries. Succumbing to the wounds, he attained the elevated status of martyrdom in 2019.
