From the moment Islam entered Afghanistan, the disbelievers and their allies have been inflamed with fury, similar to how Abu Jahl reacted with fury when Hazrat Umar (RA) embraced Islam. It is for this reason that, from the outset, the enemies of Islam have been relentlessly scheming to prevent Afghanistan from advancing in any meaningful way. Their desire has always been to ensnare the country in their colonial web.
Nonetheless, Afghanistan’s historical narrative attests that this land has never succumbed to foreign occupation. Countries like Britain, the Soviet Union, and the United States faced resistance instead of a warm welcome. This resistance taught them a valuable lesson that will be remembered as a source of shame for those who doubted Afghanistan’s resilience.
Whenever faced with military defeat, non-believers resort to supporting or enabling a faction that will continue to pursue their remaining goals. Therefore, after the United States’ defeat in Afghanistan, they aligned themselves with a group known as ISIS—a group that, in its brutality and terrorism, exceeded even the non-believers themselves.
Although ISIS was already carrying out its activities under American orders before the defeat, it was relatively weak. However, after America’s loss, ISIS attempted to assert itself in Afghan territory with its full military, propagandist, and media capabilities but was unsuccessful.
Initially, ISIS committed acts of extreme cruelty and barbarism against Muslims that were admired by America and other non-believers. As the saying goes, “Oppression, when it intensifies, eventually collapses.” Subsequently, ordinary Muslims and the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate rose up against them, purging Afghan territory of their vile presence, including their secret bases and plans.
At present, the influence of ISIS is negligible, with only their name lingering. Even if a few remnants survive, they are too afraid to venture out of their hiding places. May Allah eradicate this this fitna (strife), along with any other groups that stand in opposition to Islam and Afghanistan.
