One of the fundamental reasons for the growth and survival of a movement or organization is the support it receives from renowned scholars and intellectuals. When leading figures in the world view a movement’s beliefs and ideas positively, they instill hope and lend credibility to its cause.
However, when it comes to ISIS, not a single respected scholar or well-known religious figure has expressed any hope or approval of their actions. A major issue for this group is that across the entire Islamic world, no credible or trustworthy scholar supports them.
This is a movement that only its members can follow, fueled by false hopes. If it were otherwise, prominent scholars would have certainly shown optimism toward their cause.
The leaders and key members of ISIS lack the endorsement of any renowned Islamic scholars with international credibility. They fail to garner support from respected scholars and lack any association with credible figures.
One of the prominent scholars of the Islamic world has remarked about ISIS:
“By Allah, I have never seen the scholars of jihad condemn and oppose any Islamic movement as fiercely as they have condemned the project of ISIS in Syria.”
He further added that no other movement in the Islamic world has faced such widespread and severe criticism from scholars, with a collective stance of condemnation against ISIS.
Historically, any movement lacking the support of religious scholars, no matter how powerful it may have appeared, has inevitably met its demise. For this very reason, ISIS is on a trajectory towards inevitable failure, with no outcome other than its eventual collapse.
This serves as a clear sign that this movement is misguided, as no renowned scholar supports it, and it stands on the verge of downfall, counting its final days.
For those young individuals who may be deceived by the apparent strength of this group, it is crucial to clearly and openly question their reasoning: Why follow a movement that none of your religious leaders endorse?
How can they continue to follow a group that their own religious leaders neither endorse nor approve of? How can this group ever be the one to fulfill Islamic aspirations when the scholars reject them entirely?
