The brave, courageous, and steadfast believer Sayyid Munir Wahab (RH), son of Sayyid Mohsin, was a resident of the Hoskhel village in the Baraki Barak district of Logar province. He was born in 1375 (Solar Hijri) into a devout and religious family.
Education:
He completed his primary and secondary education at the Chalozai High School in his village and studied up to the twelfth grade. From an early age, he was a person of religion, morality, and pure Islamic belief, and he had a deep love for Islamic values.
Beginning of Jihad:
When foreign invaders occupied the beloved country and took away the peace of every believing Afghan, Sayyid Munir Wahab also joined the caravan of those striving on the path of truth. In 1393 SH, he began his struggle within the ranks of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and followed this path with great sincerity, courage, and steadfastness.
In the field of Jihad:
He was a well-mannered, righteous, and brave individual. He had immense love for Jihad; whenever it was time for deployment, he would become overjoyed, and if he was ever left out, he would feel deep sadness. His bravery and courage were a source of awe for his companions. Among his peers, he was known for sincerity, piety, and valor. On the battlefield, he was always among the front-line fighters and never turned away from danger.
Deployment to Nangarhar:
When operations against the Daeshi Khawarij began, the Mujahideen unit from Logar was sent to the Sherzad district of Nangarhar. Martyr Wahab also went there along with his companions and fought with great courage against the enemy. In the operations carried out by the Mujahideen, many enemy positions were captured and heavy losses were inflicted upon them. Martyr Wahab actively participated in these operations and carried out actions marked by bravery and valor.
Love for his companions:
Martyr Wahab had instructed his close companions before leaving that his family should not be informed. This reflects the depth of his commitment to Jihad and his strong attachment to it.
According to his companions, whenever they would go to battle, he would bid farewell to everyone with great sincerity and would ask them for prayers.
Final battle and moments of martyrdom:
The dark curtain of night had not yet fully lifted when the flames of battle reignited. The silence of the mountains was broken by the echo of gunfire, and the smell of gunpowder filled the air. Continuous fire came from the enemy positions, yet the Mujahideen stood firm like the towering peaks of the mountains. In these intense moments of the battle, the sound of heavy weapons rose, and the need for mortar fire arose. The companions asked who would take on this heavy responsibility.
Before the words were even completed, Wahab (RH) responded in a voice full of courage: “I will go, you focus on your task!”
He took the burden of ammunition on his shoulder and stepped forward toward danger with unwavering determination. He began precise strikes on the enemy positions, each shell falling like a burning flame upon the enemy trenches. But destiny had written something else…
As Wahab (RH) was changing his position, suddenly, a flame of fire erupted from the ground, and the enemy’s planted landmine exploded.
Wahab was severely injured, yet he had not lost his resolve. Amid streams of blood, he pulled himself back from the front line, like a wounded falcon still intent on flight.
His companions tried to quickly evacuate him, but he calmly said: “Do not lower me… I will become a martyr anyway… you will only suffer because of me…”
However, his compassionate companions did not heed his words and carried him away for treatment.
They had not even reached halfway along the route when the light of his life slowly, slowly began to fade…
And finally, that brave Mujahid fulfilled his promise to Allah Almighty and fell into the eternal sleep of martyrdom.
نحسبه کذالک والله حسیبه.
In the foothills of the mountains, flowers blossomed from his blood, and yet another story of bravery was entrusted to the pages of history. رحمه الله علیه رحمة واسعة.
