With the help of Allah Almighty, the insurgent network operating under the direct guidance of the Khorasan branch of ISIS (IS-K) in Balochistan—responsible for destructive activities in the northeastern regions of the country—has been dismantled. As a result of successful operations conducted by the special forces of the IEA, all members of this network have been apprehended.
Al-Mersaad has acquired information from reliable sources indicating that extensive operations have been executed over the past three days against this network in the provinces of Takhar, Kunduz, Baghlan, and Samangan.
During these operations, all members of the network were captured, and weapons, ammunition, hand grenades, and explosive materials were confiscated by the special forces of the IEA.
The network’s most recent attack occurred in the Dasht-e-Qala district of Takhar province, where they targeted and killed a Chinese national. Prior to this, the network had attacked worshippers partaking in Dhikr at a mosque in the Nahrin district of Baghlan province, resulting in over ten casualties.
Additionally, they had targeted and assassinated religious scholars and prominent figures in various areas of Baghlan province. All detained members of the network have admitted to their offenses.
It is important to note that the endeavors of this network were part of a larger strategy orchestrated by the Khorasan branch of ISIS (IS-K) in Balochistan, supported by certain intelligence entities. Their objective was to instigate instability in northern Afghanistan, provoke security concerns, and create mistrust among neighboring countries.
Furthermore, the Khorasan branch of ISIS has established operational centers and training camps in Balochistan, where individuals from various European and Asian countries are being trained. If their activities are not halted, there is a possibility of perilous attacks in other countries as well.
Similarly, with the divine assistance of Almighty Allah, the special forces of the Islamic Emirate have detained several members of an armed criminal gang responsible for kidnappings and attacks on jewelers and money exchangers in Takhar province. This gang was responsible for the martyrdom of a jeweler, a money exchanger, and the younger brother of an abducted child.
According to Al-Mersaad sources, certain concealed elements were also supporting this criminal gang, with the intention of destabilizing the security situation and raising concerns regarding development and economic projects. The apprehended members of this gang have also confessed to their offenses.
Both of these gangs had planned a series of other destructive activities, but thankfully, with their suppression, the planned harmful activities were averted.
