In the recent three days, jihadi groups engaged in combat against the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria have initiated extensive operations within the city of Aleppo. The groups successfully entered the city on Friday and established control over the majority of the urban area.
Per reports from various media outlets, aside from Aleppo, jihadi factions opposing the regime have also seized the strategic town of Saraqib in Idlib province.
During these operations, the mujahideen managed to apprehend numerous regime soldiers and Iranian-supported militias, in addition to acquiring a substantial quantity of military vehicles and ammunition.
This marks the most significant offensive conducted by jihadi groups against the Bashar al-Assad regime in recent years, efficiently liberating critical areas from Assad’s oppressive forces.
It is pertinent to mention that the conflict against the Bashar regime in Syria has persisted since 2011. However, the emergence of ISIS extremists in 2014 resulted in significant setbacks for the Syrian revolution, prompting jihadi groups to retreat to Idlib province. Over the past few years, after preparation and recovery, anti-regime jihadi groups seem to have regained momentum and resumed their operations, recovering from the damage inflicted by ISIS.
