Security forces have targeted a hideout in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province linked to suspects believed to be involved in attacks on Chinese nationals in neighboring Tajikistan, sources told Al-Mirsaad.
According to security sources, the operation was carried out late last night (26 Jumada al-Thani / 26 Qaws) by the special forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in the outskirts of Faizabad. The targeted location was reportedly being used by individuals suspected of facilitating or participating in attacks against Chinese nationals.
Sources confirmed that the operation resulted in the arrest of one wanted individual, who was taken into custody alive along with weapons and other military equipment.
Preliminary results of special investigations into the attack, along with initial confessions by the detained suspect, indicate that the planning of the attack took place outside Afghanistan.
