Early this Friday morning, two key commanders of the rebels, who maintained ties with the ISIS-Khawarij, were neutralized in an operation conducted by the special intelligence forces in Nahrin district of Baghlan.

Sources informed Al-Mersaad that individuals identified as Abdul Samad Kohgadai and Commander Khairu were eradicated this morning in the Kajir Khanah area of Gahgdai Valley Karez in Nahrin district during the operation carried out by GDI. These individuals initiated anti-government activities in Nahrin district and were featured in a video released a week ago.

As per sources, these two commanders were aligned with foreign rebels under the banner of the Resistance Front (NRF) and maintained close ties with ISIS.

According to the information provided by the sources, the group led by these two individuals had forged an alliance with the ISIS insurgents due to shared objectives, facilitating the provision of weapons, ammunition, and personnel to ISIS for coordinated assaults on civilian and military targets in the northern region of the country.

These individuals collaborated with ISIS in a suicide attack back in October 2023, targeting a mosque frequented by Shiite citizens in the Pul-e-Khumri area. Additionally, they played a role in the preparation and transportation of missiles to ISIS for planned attacks on Tajikistan and Uzbekistan from Afghan territory.

The demise of commanders Abdul Samad and Khairo has effectively dismantled the key military structure of the Daesh-e-Khawarij and rebels in the northern region of the country.

Security sources confirm the acquisition of various documents and evidence during the operation, which, for security purposes, were not disclosed to Al-Mersaad.
