Sources have told Al-Mirsaad that a key ISIS-K commander was killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Peshawar.
According to well-informed security sources speaking to Al-Mirsaad, Zalmai Badakhshi, a senior operational planner for ISIS-K, was shot dead in the Shah Kas area of Peshawar.
Badakhshi, also known within ISIS-K as Salman, fled Afghanistan in October 2025 and relocated to the group’s active centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to available information, he was directly involved in and had planned the attack on a Kabul Bank branch in Kunduz city, which took place on February 11, 2025.
It is worth noting that after being suppressed in Afghanistan and Balochistan, ISIS elements have now relocated their centers to Tirah Jabarmela, Tor Dara, Orakzai, and Shalman. However, even there they have continued to come under the targeting of the IEA’s forces. On February 28, operations were carried out against their centers in Tor Dara, Tirah, using laser-guided devices, resulting in the killing of ten ISIS militants.
Similarly, on March 1, an operation in the Turkani and Narik areas of Ghiljo, Orakzai, left nine ISIS militants dead, including two key commanders, Haji Rehman (also known as Abu Nasir) and Mullah Farooqi.
