Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported that Iraqi Turkmen in the northern region of Iraq are currently seeking the remains of their relatives in a well where ISIS-Khawarij disposed of them after mercilessly killing nearly 1,500 individuals between the years 2014 and 2017.

As outlined in the report, the location dubbed as the “well of hell” is situated in the Tal Afar area, west of Mosul city. This well, approximately 100 meters (328 feet) deep, known locally as Allav Anter, served as the dumping ground for the deceased victims of ISIS atrocities.

An official from the Tal Afar district has stated that it is believed that more than 1,500 bodies could be within the confines of the well. To date, over 200 bodies, including those of women and children, have been recovered, with efforts ongoing to locate additional remains.

This particular region fell under the control of Daesh-Khawarij during the initial stages of their dominance in 2014, enduring their heinous atrocities until the year 2017.
