In February and March of this year, along the hypothetical Durand Line, the cowardly Pakistani army carried out airstrikes, missile attacks, and used various weapons against civilians. Many innocent Afghans were killed. According to the deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), in these recent brutal attacks, which targeted border districts in Kunar province, several casualties were reported among civilians.
In Islam, martyrdom is a high honor. The Qur’an and Hadith say that those who are killed while fighting for Allah SWT, standing against oppression, or defending themselves, their families, their country, or Muslims are considered martyrs. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) strictly ordered in the rules of war that women, children, the elderly, and non-combatants must not be killed. If an innocent Muslim is killed in such an attack, they are granted the reward of a martyr; their sins are forgiven, and they enter Paradise.
But this is no excuse for oppressors. Targeting civilians or killing them carelessly is an act of injustice and murder, and they will face severe judgment on the Day of Reckoning.
Islam condemns blind bombings and targeting civilians because it violates the principle of “no harm and no causing harm.” Ordinary people, whether in their homes, on the streets, or going about daily life, become targets. The responsibility for this massacre lies with those who, out of cowardice, target civilians and use indiscriminate force.
The Pakistani military regime, by targeting civilian areas and people in its sinister operations, paints a picture of terror. Destroying homes, madrassas, mosques, hospitals, and public facilities, killing women and children, displacing civilians, and using other brutal tactics resembles the operations of the Zionist regime in Gaza. There, too, under the claim of fighting “terrorists,” blind bombings, raids, and landmines have caused massive civilian casualties.
Both military regimes openly justify targeting civilians and their areas as “collateral damage,” while human rights organizations condemn it and say it violates international laws, such as the laws of war.
Another similarity is that both regimes use disproportionate force in the name of “security” and do not take responsibility for civilian deaths, or they downplay them. There is no excuse for this terror. Islam calls for justice, mercy, and the protection of innocent lives, not blind attacks.
The Pakistani military regime must understand that copying Israeli tactics is dangerous not only for Afghans but for the entire region. It cannot bring peace or security. Instead, it fuels more conflict and violence, which will harm Pakistan the most. We strongly condemn this terror. The sacrifice and martyrdom of the innocent people of Kunar will not be forgotten, and full revenge will be taken from the military regime and its militias. InShaAllah
