Part 2

In the first part of this article series, we stated our intention to examine the contradiction between the claims and actions of the Daeshi Khawarij. With the help of Allah the Almighty, we aim to expose the reality behind their hollow slogans and misleading rhetoric for our respected readers.
It is now evident to the Islamic Ummah that the most dangerous weapon wielded by the Daeshi Khawarij is their emotionally charged and eloquently adorned speeches. These are often presented in the form of Qur’anic verses and Prophetic hadiths, designed to deceive Muslims and draw them into the camp of falsehood. Outwardly, these speeches invoke the noble concepts of jihad, martyrdom, and caliphate, yet beneath this façade lies nothing but extremism, the takfir (excommunication) of Muslims, the spilling of innocent blood, and ruthless attacks on the ranks of the genuine Mujahideen of this Ummah.
When Abu Muhammad al-Adnani was appointed as the spokesperson for the so-called Islamic State (ISIS’s former name prior to their declaration of a “caliphate”), his first public statement was released during the month of Ramadan in 1432 AH under the title “Indeed, the Islamic State Remains.” In this statement, he explicitly praised the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and called upon oppressed Muslims to migrate and unite under the banner of Mullah Omar (may Allah have mercy on him).
He said:
“To all the Mujahideen across the world, and especially to that proud, unyielding mountain and that mighty sea—may my father and mother be sacrificed for him—the noble Sheikh Fazal, Mullah Omar, along with his Pashtuns and the Taliban: our solid rock and unbreakable fortress. O you who have been wronged, migrate to Mullah Omar—his positions are rare examples of justice and righteousness. The Pashtuns and the Taliban are our protectors—they have pledged to the Most Merciful never to betray. Islam will never be forsaken—as long as their souls endure or blood drips from their bodies.”
These explicit words illustrate ISIS’s initial position, particularly with regard to the IEA, at a time when they had neither announced their bloody caliphate nor entered Afghanistan. Yet, not long after, this position starkly contradicted their apparent slogans and underwent a complete reversal.
Indeed, although the Daeshi Khawarij initially regarded the IEA as the legitimate standard-bearer of Islam, once their unjust and baseless demands were rejected by the IEA, they turned against it. They branded the Mujahideen of the IEA as apostates and deemed their blood lawful to spill.
This marked the moment when the chasm between their words and their deeds expanded “from the heavens to the earth.” From praise and admiration, they descended into takfir and terrorism. The very Khawarij who had once hailed the IEA as the invincible fortress of Islam now declared it their chief adversary, labeling its Mujahideen as apostates, hypocrites, and enemies of Islam—simply because they refused to submit to the Khawarij’s illegitimate authority.
This abrupt and contradictory shift exposes a painful but instructive reality: the Daeshi Khawarij possess neither firm belief nor legitimate Shari’ah principles. For them, allegiance determines faith—whoever pledges loyalty to their faction is deemed a Muslim and a Mujahid, while anyone who declines is condemned as a disbeliever, deserving of death. This perilous ideology has revived the ancient face of the Khawarij in a modern guise, posing a grave threat to Islam and the Muslim Ummah.
It is therefore a religious obligation and a societal necessity for people of insight and concern for the Ummah to recognize the true nature of this deviant group and to expose their glaring contradictions and destructive path.
