A few days ago, the aggressive forces of Pakistan once again violated every international law, diplomatic norm, and basic right of neighborly relations. They carried out an open act of aggression against the sacred soil of Afghanistan. In these brutal airstrikes and rocket attacks on the homes of defenseless civilians in Kunar, Khost, and Paktika provinces, the bloody story of suffering and oppression repeated once again.
As a result of this reckless attack, 11 innocent children, one woman, and one elderly person were martyred with cruelty and savagery. Another 14 people, including women and infants, were severely injured. This is not the first time the Pakistani military regime has dropped its heavy bombs on defenseless Afghans, violating international laws of war, just to hide its own internal failures and divert public attention.
Cutting up the bodies of women and children sleeping in their beds is not justifiable under any Islamic or non-Islamic law or military code. It shows the world the savage and dark face of a regime that does not hesitate to spill human blood just to stay in power.
By international legal standards, this attack qualifies as an open humanitarian crime and a war crime. The martyrs and wounded were all oppressed and unarmed Muslims who dreamed of a peaceful and secure life in their simple mud homes. Their innocent blood is another chapter in the long history of Afghan sacrifices, a people who have been the target of foreign conspiracies and the hatred of a neighbor’s military for decades.
The cries of small children and the tears shed by helpless mothers beside the bodies of their loved ones are a black stain on the conscience of humanity. These people never intended to harm anyone, yet they fall victim to such brutal attacks. Their poverty and their silent suffering should knock on the door of every awakened conscience and every just human being.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) considers the defense of its territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and the lives and property of its citizens its own religious, moral, and national duty. It holds back nothing in fulfilling that duty.
Our policy is clear and based on principle. The country’s airspace and borders are red lines tied to the honor of the nation. Any aggression against them is strongly condemned, and our right to self-defense is protected under all circumstances. The IEA seeks good relations with its neighbors based on mutual respect and regional stability. But that does not mean weakness, and it does not mean forgetting the blood of our people.
Our security and defense forces are always ready, standing like a steel shield to defend this land against any aggressor.
We call on the international community, the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and especially the countries and leaders of the Islamic world to put human values above their material and political interests. These repeated, cruel, and savage attacks by the Pakistani military regime must be officially condemned in the strongest terms.
It is also necessary and the demand of our people that serious political and legal pressure be applied to this aggressive regime to restore the rights of these innocent victims and compensate for the financial and human losses. Silence in the face of such crimes will only bring more instability and disaster to the region, and its fire will spread everywhere.
The IEA and the people of this brave land will never forget the blood of their martyrs or the full scale of this crime. These aggressive attempts by the oppressors will never weaken the will and unity of the Afghan people. They will only make their resistance stronger on the path to what is right. We pray to Almighty Allah to grant the martyrs of this tragedy the highest place in Paradise, to bless their families with patience and strength, and to grant all those wounded a complete and speedy recovery.
