Syrian Forces Capture Nine ISIS Militants in Idlib Raid

Syrian security forces have dismantled a major ISIS network in Idlib province, capturing nine militants alive during a targeted operation.

In a statement issued on August 7, the Syrian Interior Ministry said the raid was carried out in Idlib’s Harem district against an ISIS cell responsible for assassinating five Iraqis and plotting additional attacks.

From the hideout, authorities seized a cache of weapons, including explosive vests, mortar shells, landmines, gunpowder, and other munitions.

Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, ISIS has intensified efforts to destabilize Syria’s new government. However, recent operations underscore the administration’s determination to prevent the group from reigniting conflict in the country.
