Daesh’s Final Gasps of Breath on Social Media

Daesh – a term that, upon mere utterance, conjures images of children’s blood being spilled. The very mention of them revives memories of massacres, beheadings, live burnings, and drownings. Daesh is a group that spares not even the youngest amongst the ranks of the believers, denying them the basic right to live.

Therefore, the believers neither stand in solidarity with them nor offer them any form of support, despite the fact that their numbers on the battlefield have been reduced to a mere handful, and their digital footprint is barely noticeable.

Their dwindling numbers on the battle become more evident once we take note of the fact that in Afghanistan, it takes them two to three months to muster even one or two assailants to conduct an attack, only for the brave forces of the Islamic Emirate to eventually capture them and obliterate all that they have.

Similarly, in the online world, they’re currently facing a shortage of manpower, with each of their members running dozens of accounts on social media, projecting a facade of a large number of activists. In reality, what usually happens is that one person is managing more than ten accounts simultaneously, enduring the squalor of their digital existence.

May Allah increase them in disgrace and humiliation – Amīn, O Lord of the Worlds.
