Illustrious Personalities of the Ummah

Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani (Nu’man) Shaheed, son of Shah Rasool, was a paragon of virtuous morals, a symbol of piety and humility, a figure akin to an eagle navigating the mountains and deserts. He resided in Dara Khola village, Shokhel tribe, Aryob Zazi district of Paktia province.

In 2001, during the United States and its allies’ invasion of Afghanistan, he was pursuing his primary education at Roqyan High School in the Aryob Zazi district of Paktia province. Faced with the cruelty and brutality of the foreign invaders, he had no choice but to seek refuge abroad. Mawlawi Haqqani acquired most of his education at Jamia Darul Uloom Haqqania – Akora Khattak, and in 1437 AH, he completed his studies and was honored with the turban of excellence.

Upon graduation, he was appointed as a principal and teacher at Jamia Abu Huraira Madrasa of the Hasan Algadi area of the Aryob Zazi district in Paktia province, where he also led a jihadi group.

After witnessing oppression and tyranny at the hands of the Americans and the Kabul administration, he prioritized the sacred path of jihad over teaching and eventually ventured towards active fronts of jihad.

Throughout his two-decade long journey of jihad, Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani showed unwavering dedication and served tirelessly. When the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan appointed Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Muslim as the Governor of Paktia province and the Khawarij intensified their activities in Nangarhar province simultaneously, Governor Sahib entrusted Mawlawi Haqqani with the responsibility to suppress this deviant group by any necessary means.

With utmost dedication to fulfill his Shar’i obligation and in obedience to his leader’s command, Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani Shaheed carried out the order, serving with great honor as the head of his jihadi unit in his area and then proceeding to also serve as the leader of his jihadist group in this sacred battle.

Due to Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani’s unparalleled military experience, relentless service, patience, steadfastness, zeal, and exceptional courage on the sacred path of jihad, he waged war with great bravery and determination against the Daeshi Khawarij. As a result, he successfully eliminated numerous enemies of our religion and faith.

He consistently emphasized the unity and agreement among the mujahideen on the path of jihad, ensuring that this righteous path remained free from divisive influences and satanic temptations.

A model of upright character, embodying piety and humility, Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani stood as a testament to selflessness and commitment, displaying extraordinary bravery, honor, and lion-heartedness in his pursuit of jihad. His legacy remains an inspiration, reminiscent of the noble examples of Hamza, Hanzala, and Khalid bin Walid (May Allah be pleased with them all), forever chanting for martyrdom, kindling a fervent flame in hearts and minds.

Finally, on the 10th of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1441 AH, in the Kakh area of the Achin district in Nangarhar province, Mawlawi Abd’al-Haq Haqqani earned the distinguished honor of martyrdom while valiantly confronting the Khawarij.
