The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) is led by adherents of the noble religion of Islam, followers of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah, and proponents of the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. The tenets of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah promote moderation, free from extremism or negligence.

Similarly, the Hanafi school of Imam al-Azam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him) offers balanced perspectives on secondary issues, providing moderate solutions for all aspects of life. Striving for moderation in all matters ensures durability and sustainability.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, which is grounded in the principles of the Hanafi school, upholds a foreign and domestic policy grounded in moderation. It seeks healthy relations, free from domestic interference, with the entire world on civil matters.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan does not harbor intentions of aggression towards other nations, violation of their rights, or interference in their internal affairs. It calls for mutual respect and encourages all nations to uphold diplomatically balanced relationships within the framework of moderation.

For all its foreign and domestic political engagements, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan upholds the following Quranic verse as a guiding principle:

فَمَنِ اعْتَدٰی عَلَیْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُوْا عَلَیْهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا اعْتَدٰی عَلَیْكُمْ ۪ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَ اعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ(البقرة/۱۹۴)

Translation: “So whoever transgresses against you, transgress against them in the same manner that they have transgressed against you. And fear Allah, and know that Allah is with those who are mindful of Him.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:194)

In summary, the political interactions of the Islamic Emirate adhere to this noble verse, abstaining from intruding in the internal or external policies of other countries, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, and refraining from instigating or escalating conflicts.

The Islamic Emirate rejects any form of aggression, interference, or intervention from other Muslim or non-Muslim nations in its policies or territory. Any encroachment on Afghanistan’s system or disruption of its internal or external matters will be met with a resolute response.

It does not succumb to the influence of any government or individuals. The Emirate strives to strengthen Afghanistan’s economy, education, progress, military, healthcare, and other sectors to fulfill the rights of all Afghans, withdraw foreign influences from Afghanistan, and prevent Afghans from being subjected to harmful foreign policies.

All announcements by the Islamic Emirate regarding foreign and domestic policies are derived from the principles of Islam. Every decision is implemented after the approval of hundreds of scholars, ensuring that the Islamic Emirate’s stance on reciprocity aligns with Islamic principles and humanitarian protection.

In essence, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan pursues a Sharia-based policy that is thorough and equitable, safeguarding the rights of its citizens and individuals globally, without encroaching on the rights of others. It appeals to the world to engage with the Emirate in a judicious and equitable manner.
